What is Responsive Web Design?

July 22nd, 2018
As more and more people are browsing the web with mobile devices, it's becoming increasingly important that websites are designed to look great and function properly for them. Responsive Web Design is a philosophy implemented through a series of techniques that allows web pages to "respond" or behave differently, depending on the size and orientation of the device. A responsive website is one that will adjust itself to look great on all devices.

You can test, yourself to see if any web page is designed responsively using your desktop or laptop. Resize your web browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) by shrinking the width of the window. If the web page is not responsive, you will notice scroll-bars that appear along the bottom of the page. On the other hand, if the page is responsive you'll be able to watch its contents adjust as you shrink and expand the window's width.

For those who are in the market for a new or re-designed website, my advice to you would be to make sure it's responsive.
